Want To Run 33-12.50s On '04 1500

I have an '04 GMC Sierra 1500 and I want to run 33-12.50s on my stock rims. I have cranked the tortion bars to level the truck and had it aligned, The tires wear normal and the truck tracks correctly.

What body lift or suspension lift do I need to run to fit 33-12.50s under my truck without rubbing? Please post pics if you're running 33s on your rig and let me know what you had to do to be able to make them work. Pics would be great as well!

As always, thanks for the help!

Every single one of those questions have been answered a million times on here. BUT, I'll throw you a bone. To start, I don't think 12.50" wide tires will fit on stock rims. To fit those tires, you may have to buy new wheels with a larger backspacing. You might get away with a leveling kit, but I'm not sure about the rubbing. If money isn't a big deal, put a 4" suspension lift on there and do it right!

Thanks for the help. I'll do some research and make a decision

a body lift would be the easiest thing to do, since it wont mess up your alignment or anything else and you will have room for the tires then.

also you cant fit a 12.5" tires on a stock rim

So, a 3" body lift and I can go with 33-12.50s on my stock rims? Now I just need to find a pic of my bodystyle truck with this set-up

Thanks Riggs!

A 3" body lift and you can go with 12.50" wides on an aftermarket rim. Lol I don't want you to be confused here. I could see how that could get bad fast.

General rule of thumb is tires can be about 4ish inches wider than the rim they're going on....so an 8" wide rim is what you need as a minimum width....I believe most 33's recommend 9" though.

The stock rims are only 7" wide.

OK LOL I misread what Riggs had written. Thanks for clearing that up. Now I need to find me some 9" rims that won't break the bank.

I'm also having trouble finding pics of this set-up. Anybody got any pics of a 3" bodylift and 33s?

You can probably find a wheel/tire package deal on discount tires website or Tire rack's website that you like. LT285/75/16 is 32.8X12.5X16 basically a 33....285/70/17....285/65/18...you get the idea

I know there are pics on here of guys with 33's and a 3" body....lots of them...I don't know however if those guys are still active members of the site.

285 = 285mm wide = 11.22 inches

So a 285/75/16 is a 32.8 x 11.22, not 12.5" wide

Oopse...math not working today...LOL

yeah 285/75/16 are 33" tires...well 32.8" close enough

315's are 12.5" wide...

So 315/70/16...decrease the second number by 5 for every rim size you go up.

:D:D:D

2+2 is 5..... :lol::crazy:
