2003 Z71 Service Brake System

Hello,

 

My Dic says Service Brake System. I had a number of chimes and this displayed and stayed on. Seems to be working properly though.

 

We did have a lot of snow yesterday and it is freezing in WI today. Any ideas?

Thanks for the input. I am hoping it was the snow pack causing it. When leaving work, there was no message last night. None this morning either.

Very well could be. If you have a shop, you should pull the truck in and disconnect the ABS plugs on the wheels, hit them with some contact cleaner, than give them a liberal coating of dielectric grease, and put them back together. That will keep the moisture out, and prevent corrosion.

 

If this is not possible....you can spray the outside with WD-40...being extremely careful not to get any over spray on your rotors. Again this will help with moisture, and therefore corrosion.

Check fluid level in the reservoir...thats an easy start.

had similiar issue, ended up being a loss of communication with pcm...dealer had to update my computer, message later on came back and ended up being low power steering fluid on my 04...just my 2 cents the snow does blow here in wi btw
