Complaints About Gmt400's

Since we are moaning about things we can't change, lets hear your gripes about GMT400's.

1. My 95 didn't have 400 hp. Toyotas 5.7 has 387 so mine should have had more then 205.

2. The ride is too harsh. I feel like I am in a truck.

3. Why didn't they go to OBDII a year earlier. I would not have bought a 95 if I would have know that I could have my computer reflashed by waiting a year.

4. No side impact air bags.

5. No 4 wheel disc.

6. My gas mileage sucks. I drive the piss out of it, but I should be able to get at least 20mpg.

Ok, I feel better now. I have been holding that in for 15 years.

pretty funny rant on the GMT400's ... I was thinking that this morning too as I read about the 800's...

... one more to add.... it was -31*C this morning and after starting perfectly when parked outside on the driveway... the truck actually took 5 minutes to warm up enough to thaw the frost off the windshield .... 5 minutes, !!! I mean this should be instant!!!

... but seriously, I use my perfectly reliable GMT400 in exactly the same way that I would use any brand new truck... except I don't have payments, and I don't have some of those electrical problems, oil consumption, AFM issues, etc., etc., that some of y'all complain about on your newer trucks....

I thought my '98 was very comfortable to ride in, wasn't harsh at all. It is a truck anyways and was nothing luxurious either. My GMT900 doesn't have 4-wheel disc either. I got ~20 mpg with my 305 manual transmission in my '98. My only complaint is that I didn't have an 8' bed.

Yeah, I am just being obnoxious and make fun of some of the rants going on right now. I loved my 95 and the only reason I sold it a month or two ago was because I needed the money and it had been basically sitting for the last year or so. I actually had to think about things make up about it to complain about.

GMT400 are still some of my favorite trucks.

Gotcha

I got rid of mine after it started having oil pressure problems at colder temperatures. I blew out an oil filter seal and spewed oil everywhere in an apartment complex. The pressure was related to some lifter noise (loud and obnoxious). Anyways, I had to get rid of it as it was not reliable enough to travel across the country in. Other than that it was a superb truck.
