Dual Exhaust Using Stock Muffler?

I have a flowmaster on my 6.0 which replaced the stock muffler perfectly. The guy at the local muffler shop fabricated a "Y" out the back of the muffler and hand formed two tailpipes out the back....looks great and sounds great.

No reason no to do the same with a stock muffler....in fact, my brother-in-law did exactly that after he saw mine...had the same muffler guy do the same trick to his F250 with a V10...the V10 sonds terrible with anything but a stock muffler - kind of ricer-like. go for it and you will like it

Not ridiculous at all. Mine is a single in - dual out muffler with duals. I like it just fine. Yours would be just as "dual" as most in here are.

am i the only one here to have a 6.0 with the OEM muffler having dual inlets and dual outlets as well ?

GMT-900's have a different muffler than yours.

Borla emailed me and said there is new system coming out for the 2500hd 6.0 in the next 8-10 weeks.

I may wait, but I am thinking of leaving the HD muffler, and going with Dynatech headers, mids, and cats. Thier rep said it sounds great with the stock muffler.

For what cab/bed configuration? Any other info?

I only asked about the '09 crew cab, short box 2500HD 6.0

They said it was in development, and soon to be released. He said drone would be eliminated, and that was the goal.

At thier website you can submit inquiries. They respond pretty quick. Link is on the site here.

Is this what you are thinking of doing??? Cutting the "Y" off on the backside of the stock muffler outlet and then run duels off the muffler???
