Dic Say Oil Level Low But Dip Stick Says It Is High

The DIC sometimes shows a warning that the oil level is low. I have checked the oil level twice and it is above the cross hatched area on the dip stick when parked on a level surface with the engine warm. It stays the same after sitting for several minutes.

I bought the truck December 31st 2009 and first experienced this problem on Sunday the 3rd. I called the dealer when the light came on and they said to add Mobil 5W30 dyno oil. I bought a bottle but did not add since the dip stick shows the level to be high.

The dealer changed the oil level sensor and removed some oil.

It cost $99 to diagnose and $28 for parts.

I guess the selling dealer decided to overfill the oil instead of replacing the sensor
