i get this mild click when i hit the gas(gently) i can hear it some where towards the bottom of the truck, what the noise sounds like is the popping the cat makes after the trucks been driven for awhile, any ideas?

Mounts, springs moving, vibration in the exhaust...possibilities are nearly endless

the thing is, the trucks tranny was removed from the truck and put back in for a new front pump seal, so i'm thinking maybe the exaust?

have you been under to see if something is contacting...if its vibration from exhaust etc you should see a shiny spot where its contacting.

Or it could be something wrapped around your drive shaft...but that would make the noise happen all the time.

i hear the click when i apply the accelerater after being stopped, its just a quick click, nothing constant..although i do get clicking under load not loud but just enough to hear it...

It should be greased when you replace the u-joints.

they are the factory u joints still, the dealer may have hit it when they dropped the trans, i know i haven't greased it..my bounds of driveway mechanic end at topping off fluids and changing oil lol

yeah if they dropped the trans they put grease on the slip yoke.

yeah they took the trans straight out of the truck, for the front seal to be replaced...had the truck for 8 hours or so
