I went with Beltech spindles and struts. McGaughy flip kit and assist bags for a total of a 4/7 drop. I am a beltech fan, but they didn't make a assist bag for their flip kit hence the reason why I went with the other brand (didn't know about the airlift).

Here she is with a lot of air in the assist bags right after the install.

If I had to do it over again i would have purchased the camber kit from the get go. The closest the alignment shop could get it after the install was -1 degree before the camber kit.

That's why I am at 3" in front rather then 4, and I hated my low profile tires...

That's a beautiful de-badged beast! :sigh:

Only one thing I might suggest... remove those black and gold caps from the wheel centers. A little heat and they pop right off. See 66nova's truck below. It looks very sweet.

The alignment wasn't that big of a deal, I just wished Beltech and their dealers would be straight up about needing the camber kit.

Its a give and take situation when it comes to larger diameter wheels. The ride becomes more harsh the larger the wheel you go. I don't mind low profile tires (drove my 03 on 265/35/22s from coast to coast), but it can get old at times. For those who want to improve the ride quality I would highly suggest assist bags. My truck rides worlds better when I run 20-30 PSI in the rear.

Yeah you are right, I have had my truck at the 4/7 at first and couldn't get the camber set right, I feel your pain. The Spindles should come with the camber kit already, that would help a whole bunch...

My Truck rides the best with my Quad in the back and 30-40 psi in the bags....

What do you guys think of the djm 2/3 drop kit? Thats what im planning on doing in the next week or two, but i do haul our horses now and then. Down the road i plan on doing a full tank system in two or so years. Just want a decent drop for now. Model DJM2557-2/3 FRONT COIL SPRINGS/REAR KIT. I can get this for 220 plus labor/front end alignment to put it in. For a 2/4 they want another 200 bucks plus, cant justify that. Thanks

That looks Really nice. Glad I could help you out.

Do you have any rubbing issues being that low with the stock tires?

the front only rubs a bit at full lock, the rear will only top the wheel well once in a while on big dip,

nothing that will chew up my tires though

I would go with drop spindles (knuckles) instead of coils or struts if you are just gonna do 2in up front. Your tires will thank you. Belltech makes a 3in drop shackle for the rear and if you pull the rear block that will bring you down 4inches in the rear. Shackles are a super easy install for a DIY. As far as hauling I guess it all depends on the weight distribution of your trailer.

Where did you get that front lower valence for your truck?

As far as a 2/3 or 2/4 drop, I wouldn't do it. As a matter of fact, I did do it the first time, and here are some pictures.

I also did a 3/5 I didn't like that either.

I like the 3/6 the best.

McGaughey sucks... I have a whole kit minus the spindles laying in my garage that was installed on my truck the first time around. I wouldn't give it to my worst enemy.

I tried to tell you not to use MCGoofy Jim :shakehead:

I know you did JB, I guess some people have to learn the hard way!

How you been? I see you lifted your truck. I thought you were joking when you said you were going to. lol
