Gmt900 Trans Pan Removal

Looking at Alldata instructions for transmission pan R&I, it says to remove the catalytic converters. I have a hard time believing that you would have to do this.

GM techs or those that have done a trans pan drop on the GMT900 4x4 with 4L60-E trans, can you tell me for sure if this needs to be done?

Also, for those that have done this, did you install the new updated trans pan magnets per service bulletin 08-07-30-040B?

  You heard of chevron fuel? They have the additive. I trust other brands do to. I let my Hyundai service writer talk me into injecting cleaner on my wife’s Genesis. It was running fine no issues. After nothing was changed. How could it? It was fine before hand. I guess if it makes people feel better. I agree about buying fuel where the most traffic is.

  That’s exactly how I felt. What’s changed? Information. You can track 5 year old vehicles. You have carfax and the internet to get information on how vehicles are holding up. The discounts for older vehicles with depreciation is hard to pass up. It only took me 50 years to change my ways. The money Ive saved is in the six figures. Of course my driving is less now. I have to write this down as a reminder to myself as the new vehicle bug is always biting. At least buying older vehicles I’m getting better return on vehicles. And I have more to drive.

  I have yet to experience any motor oil shortages, i actually just bought a 5 quart jug at Walmart full syn for under 20 bucks. I'm no keeper of prices and it is the budget Walmart brand, but under 20 bucks for 5 quarts seems as cheap as ever too me. I remember when i changed my own oil with Dino oil it was around the same price for 5 quarts like 3 bucks and that was for regular conventual oil like 20+ years ago. But the shelves were all stocked so no brands were missing and i think mobile 1 was around 28-30 for the 5 quart jug, not really that expensive imo at like 6 bucks per quart.
