Replace Waterpump At 111,000 Miles?

So I have my old castec heads off my 2005 Tahoe with 5.3 and am waiting for replacements. Man, the water pump sure would be easy, but it's about $120 from Advance Auto. So with 111,000 miles, should I replace it now or wait until it goes bad? Any life expectancy estimate on the original ones? Doesn't look that much harder to replace even with the heads, but not sure I want to spend more money now.

Uh, mine died at 40Kish miles. I replaced it with Oreilly's unit...it varies.

got 185k out of mine. radiator flushes when needed!

Had the dealership do that for me every year... I didnt care at the time but now that the truck is out of warranty, I stopped going and did it myself. Pump died one day and engine started to heat up so I shut it down and had it towed it to the house. Changed it myself and all was well...

Ok, thanks guys. I'll wait til it starts to leak, hopefully in a year or two. Spent enough on the heads, etc.

At 100k-ish I replaced my water pump to cure a leak. The one the dealer said I did not have before the 3/36 ran out on my truck...... I lived with it for QUITtttta long time.... The gasket on the passengers side had eroded. Water pump was just fine. But I put a new pump on because it was off to replace the gasket.

If it ain't leaking leave it alone.

Wait, to clarify, should I have not replaced the pump in my case?
