Need Help 06 Cc Slt 4wd

I have a wire under the hood grounded to the firewall on the driver side wrapped in a orange sticker with the numbers 9982 on the outside of it. Problem is that the other end is not connected to anything & i can't find where it is supposed to go. It was never dangling free before. Any help & / or pictures would be a great help & much appreciated!!

does it have a ring terminal, plug or is it just a bare wire? picture? wire color?

Take a picture of it...a good picture...I might be able to locate it on my truck.

A ring terminal, i'll peel the plastic shroud back to check for color of wire & try to get a pic. I have 2 wires grounded on the upper firewall driver side. If you are facing the firewall the one on the right is not connected to anything.

Well first thing I'd ask is if everything is working properly or have you noticed anything unusual?

Yup, sounds like the ground wire.

i'm not sure, that's why i was asking for help. There is a place it could bolt on to in that area of the hood, but the nut is secure so i don't know how the ring could have came loose?
