'95 C1500 Proportioning Valve Location?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I thought it might finally be time to break down and purchase a couple proportioning valve depressors to throw in my toolbox for the next time I bleed the brakes on my '95 sierra. On other trucks of the same vintage, I have seen the proportioning valve essentially near the master cylinder, but on my truck it is nowhere in sight (pics below). I have the kelsey-hayes setup, which I thought was a 4WAL system, but maybe I am just crazy. It has discs up front, drums in the rear. Where is the proportioning valve at? Could it be attached to the kelsey-hayes unit? (see second pic).

Can the kelsey hayes unit be bled directly (without a using a tech 1 to cycle the ABS, or am I stuck "manually" cycling the abs via the dirt-road-method?)

Thanks,
