Steering Wheel Controls

Do all the controls on the steering wheel light up when the headlights come on or is it just a couple (volume, fuel info, source....)

 

Reason I ask is that I bought the truck a month ago and did not realize until someone pointed it out to me that all of them should be lit up. SO I ask are they all suppose to light up or some? If not all, which ones do?

Yes...all buttons on the GMT800s should be lit up

On a GMT800/GMT360 they all should light up.

I'm down to 2 that light.....now my Radio is slowly getting dark. I was told by one person that the steering wheel controls just pop out and replace....others say to remove the steering wheel and remove back to replace ???...2006 Silverado

both ways work. If you are gonna pop off the buttons while leaving the steering wheel in place, find one of the microsized/precision screwdrivers (preferably jewelery flat screwdrivers) and wrap a piece of cloth on the tip of the blade. Insert the cloth-wrapped tip into the space between the button housing and the leather of the steering wheel. Gently (and I mean GENTLY) pry that sucker loose. Should pop pretty easy.

I'm down to about half of mine working on steering wheel....

 

And a couple are out on my radio... Actually a couple more were out but i flicked them with my finger out of frustration and they came back on tried it with the rest multiple times but all i got was a sore finger

Thanks for the replies. Ya I am down to a couple as well. Guess I need to take them out and check them. Now what type of bulb lights these things?

its an led.. Ive heard non repairable, but there are companies on ebay that you send them your button and they solder new led's in... probably not to hard to do yourself... Im wondering if i could take the buttons out and still drive it ... i ditn see there being a problem , unless the plug falls into the wheel
