I have a 1999 3/4 ton GMC with the factory wired 7 way and I dont have any power to the 12v aux power to charge the battery. I have heard people say there is a fuse that needs put in, i just can't seem to figure out where. any help is gretly appreciated

Not sure on the 99s but in my 08 I had to hook up the wire for it and the fuse for it was marked on the fuse box under the hood.

It's a 40A fuse and should go in either AUX1 or AUX2 (can't remember from when I had my '99 Silverado - damn CRS anyway  ). No wire to hook up, it's already in the harness going into the underside of the box. The underside of the fusebox lid will have a diagram. Put the fuse in AUX1 and check for voltage at the pin. I don't think the ignition switch has to be on but check it that way. If no voltage, move the fuse the fuse to AUX2 and try again.

The owner's manual will have the info. Or stop by a dealer and ask them. A good service department will either give you the info or if you buy the fuse in the parts department, they might even install it for you for free.

Did you connect the wire and add the fuse under the hood in the fuse box?????? Take the cap off and the body cover (aka the black plastic covering the fuse box).... I had to put 2 wires on... One for the center pin and one for the trailer brakes.... I had to do it to BOTH OF MY TRUCKs..... 99 1500 and my 01 2500

Did you check your +pin with a volt meter? My 07' was hooked up already. Although, I thought it wasn't because the battery in my camper wouldn't charge. Then I found out thet the RV store where we bouht the camper never connected the +wire to the connector on the trailer side.

You should see the wire bundled up along side the fuse box, the break controller power wire is on one sid of the box and the 7-pin wire is on the other side, I can't remember which was wich but I want to say there was a post on here about it.
