2008 Gmc Sierra Font End Vibration After Installing New Wheels & 3

Hello,

I have a 2008 GMC sierra CC. I have recently finished adding and changing some things on it. A little bit after I bought the truck back in 2008 I put a 2.5" leveling kit on it. Just recently I added a 1.5" body lift and 2 inch blocks in the back. I then had brand new wheels 18" and 33" Cooper Zeon LTZ tires. I had the truck aligned after everything had been installed. The problem I'm having is....while driving its smooth until I reach 50 mph then its starts vibrating in the front end and continues tell I pass 55 mph by a little bit. I can take my hands of the wheel and you can see it shacking back and forth. Then after 55 mph its smooths back out until I hit 65 and it starts the vibrating again and quits around 70 mph and starts again at 75. 75mph is as fast as I've had it since all the changes and add on's. This may be normal I'm not for sure since its my first time ever adding new wheels and tires to my vehicle I've always wanted to and finally was able. I've had the tires balanced twice but its not helped none. Any advice / help is greatly appreciated.

Well its obvious something that was just added to the truck is causing the problems. Tires can be in perfect balance but be out of round and that will cause shaking and or vibration. The bigger the tires and the more aggressive the tread, the more pronounced the problems can be.

Anytime you alter the truck from stock condition you can run into these problems. I am by no means an expert on this but IMO the tires are bad, 10 to 1 they are out of round. If they took more than 2-oz to balance, you got low quality tires. I would be back at the place that sold you the tires/wheels and be all over their case till they resolve the problem or put in new tires be them another brand or what. If you bought the tires and wheels online at discount stores, then you might have problems getting tire shop to care about it.

Pull your wheels off and look at the wheel studs. They come with a little retainer clips that you can snip off with a pair of dykes and that will fix your problem.

ruddly455....those clips are on the back only right? If so those was removed when the new tires and wheels were installed I was their when they did it and made sure they took them off. But I thought they were only on the back...?? Thanks for the advice!
