6.2l 6.2 Liter Tahoe For Sale ?

I have a fully loaded 09 LTZ Tahoe AWD with every option, so when i saw that this one has a 6.2 i was a little confused. I thought only the Escaliades have the 6.2 engine. So i asked for proof and a pic of the air box sticker was sent. I looked on the GM site and could not find where this was an option. I am thinking that the last owner put this air box cover on from an Escaliade..... Am i wrong?????

Nope,Thats correct,It has the 6.2 in it,It was optional in certain model Tahoe's.

The part about Gm demos is strange because I have never seen any listed for QRD purchase.

Well the salesman isn't really lying.....You don't see too many Tahoe's equipped with the 6.2,and when I ran the VIN on the one they have for sale.....It was a GM company vehicle.

 

This reminds me of the '07-'08 Avalanche's with the 6.0-liter,You don't see many,but they are out there.

Hasn´t been the 6.2l only available for one year (model 2009) as an option for the Tahoe? I recall GM has canceled this engine for the 2010.

Yes,I think it was available in '08 also,although I'd have to do some checking.

I do think the 6.2 is still available in the GMC Yukon XL (non-Denali version that is)

Don´t know about the ´08 model but you´re right Rich, GMC still does offer the 6.2l for the Yukon Xl...but guess what : it only has 395hp...WTF?

And they only rated those at 380hp...

 

But, if you're that worried about a 20hp loss, then I would investigate b/c it's probably only one of a few things.

 

1.) They lowered the redline so the hp number wouldn't be so high.

 

2.) They've got a different cam in them that lowers the powerband just slightly.

 

3.) GM (as they often do) lied about the power output.
