installed the k&n intake today $113.05 on ebay used but like new, i actually used the model for an 8.1 pickup.the k&n part number for the yukon was 57-3032, and showed only 12hp gain and had angle/restriction on the tube near the throttle body, this 57-3030 showed 17hp and the tube is perfect.. only had to trin 1/4" of the fan shroud.

test drove and really felt more of a difference than ever before with other brands on other trucks. just need mufflers and blackbear tune now :)

the difference is only in your mind man, but to each their own...whatever makes you feel good

Im not talking huge difference but the sound is good, and there is definitly a big improvment in throttle response,

some say the intake does nothing. but its simple math that if you improve your airflow to the motor by50-60% its gonna breathe better, especially without the restriction of an oem muffler

well the thing that got me kind of laughing was the 12hp and 17hp gains, those numbers are crazy....

If you ran without an air filter you could not improve your air flow that much. Your dreaming...but you have to justify in your mind the money you spent and wishful thinking can help.

The hp gains i have a hard time believing but i do however believe the better throttle response. When i put my K&N CAI on my 6.0 it said "Up Too" (those being the key words) 21hp gain... i didnt believe it before and i dont believe it now but the main thing i was going for was the throatier sound. I did however find that it is a little more responsive if you cram it off a stop light. I like mine

fyi....

Development engineers have long recognized the role that sound plays in a driver’s impression of a car’s power and responsiveness. That is why acoustical experts are working with engineering teams to import just the right amount of mechanical and exhaust chatter into the passenger cabin — enough to give occupants some feedback, but not so much that it annoys them.

yeah you would have to put a blower on to start seeing gains like that lol

Guys you don't have to be so harsh. Every cold air intake on the market advertises 9-20HP increases with installation. In reality we all know this isn't the case.

Thanks mike,

regardless of the cost.. when you combine a decent exhaust with a CAI and a good tune anyone would be happy with the difference/improvment, and have a great running truck

Some people just have a hard time believing what people actually expierence as compared to what "stuides" have been shown to say what people "should" notice. Better throttle response and slight power gains have been what most folks have reported who have put in a K&N.

i am not knocking the guy, like i said earlier whatever makes ya happy....as the rule of science goes its fact until proven wrong...personal experience can boil down into it just being in his head or it could be true...until a fact finding study comes out saying hey a CAI will actually do this and this and improve this, i'm going to go with the study that shoots holes in CAI maker's statements

My k&n made a big differance, low end and mid range. And it sounds great. The 6.0 in the hd truck is so underpowered its a joke, you need a big block or a d-max.
