Torsion Bar Lift

I'm at a loss here. Comparing my 06 silverado ECSB to a buddies 05 Sierra ECSB, both 2500 hd's and with the bars bottomed out. Mine rides rough as hell where his doesn't. I was poking around and for giggles, i stuck my hand inbetween his upper control arm and the metal stop under neith it and he has about 3" or less clearance. Did the same to mine and well, I coudnt even get my fingers inbetween them. less than half inch of space inbetween the stop and the control arm???????? Stock keys on both, and he actually took his out, smoothed out the top of the key so he could achieve alittle more lift and he still has a nicer ride than me???? What gives with that? Are his keys different because his came with the snow plow prep? I know this is not the best way to level out but everyone does it and i'll deal with the problems later but damn I just want the thing to ride half decent. If the keys are different, ill buy the right ones I need i'm not worried about that but i need to get this thing straightend out quick because i cant take it anymore and i refuse to lower it down, it looks too nice leveled with h2's and 33's.

is your truck physically higher than his? your crappy ride is due to the minimal clearance between the UCA and metal stop.... you suspension needs to extend to keep the ride smooth but it cant; different keys wont make a difference.. if you want to keep your truck at the height you currently have it, the UCA will be resting on that metal stop regardless.

since he has clearance between his UCA and the droop stops, i would venture to say that his tbars are worn.... so his suspension actually has some down travel whereas yours doesnt.... hence the better ride quality.

post up some pics of both trucks if you can

Are trucks side by side look the same height, but mine driving it feels higher, dont know if its because he has power driver seat and i do not, with the power seat you can lower yourself. I figured that's the reason my ride is so rough, but couldn't figure out why there is a difference in the clearance. Your saying his tbars are worn? Hmm. He has about 75 k on it, mine has 42k. I"ll see if i can grab pictures later tonight. What all do you want pics of?

pics of the front end angles and clearance between the control arms and droop stops should give us a pretty good idea of whats going on. (both sides)

also, check his tire pressure and compare it to yours.

are his shocks original? his shocks may be worn too which may make the ride feel more 'floaty' since they dont resist compression as well as fresh shocks.

If he has vyu plow prep then he has different rating t-bars.

All my 2500s rode rough with the factory LT245-16 tires and running the

factory 50 frt/80 rear pressures.

Are you running stock tires/rims? LT or PASS rating tires? Stock pressures?

running 285.70.17 hankook dynapro mt

he's running 33/12.50/17 multi mile wild country's

So his bars are rated for heavier weight than mine? OK, does that mean his cranked up wont drop as much? Dam GM with all their options, hd's should all come with little things like that.
