A/c Problems In My 04

well i just purchased a 2004 GMC Z71, and after a few days i noticed the A/C would stop blowing cold air when at idle, but i would blow cold when driving down the hwy at 60mph, so i had the system recharged and it only made it worse, now it blows cold sometimes down the hwy and sometime at idle, also the recirculation is not working, I have the auto dual climate control, the light comes on when the button is pushed, but nothing happens? Also i changed the orifice tube last night and it didn't seem to make a difference, is this a blend door issue? I have a couple people tell me is is a weak compressor, but i want to make sure that is the issue before i spend 300 on a new one, also a friend works for a dealer, he said the recirculation button not working could just be the climate control needs to be reprogrammed? has anyone ever had these issues? any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks,

Mitchell

It could be a recirc door actuator but I agree... about 85% of them are fixed with a software update. The recirc door travels beyond where it originally did due to flexing of the door. This causes it to go past it's "0" position. When this happens a b0229 fault code is stored and the recirc door will not be operative.

As far as the other part, sounds like a weak fan clutch to me.

Anyone know how much to reset the a/c? Mine will blow cold at first and then usually when it gets hotter starts to blow a little warmer and takes a long time to cool down the truck. Any help would be appreciated! Just had the screen replaced and system recharged.
