My truck has over 160,000 Miles and the tranny has always ran around 180-210 depending on the weather and if im towing (sometimes 215). I did a quick search on google and it claims 175 to be ideal. What are your guys opinions?

also, what is too cold???

Depends on what cooler your truck has.. if it has just the cooer in the rad tank,200 will not be unusual... also depends on ambient temps..

I have a hayden 11X11 stacked plate cooler,,, and mine has not reached 175 yet, not even with it was 102 outside.. I have towed my boat, which is 2500 pounds..

With my stock cooler(the small one with the towing package), my temps got up to 190 on the interstate (not towing)..

I think less than 225 is ideal.. No big worries until about 240...

Fluid isn't gonna be too cool... Unless you have the radiator cooler bypassed and live in canada,, I think you are ok..

Very informative thank you. I think I might get a small cooler (12x6 ish) . I do live in Canada so I definately will put it in-line with the tad cooler. Thanks again!
