Exhaust Drone 2010 2500hd Cc

I recently traded a 2009 2500HD Ext Cab for a 2010 2500HD Crew Cab. The 2010 has a loud exhaust drone when cruising around 55 mph. The only differences in the two trucks are the cab size, and the Crew Cab has the Z71 package (both trucks are 4X4). Have any of you noticed a similiar exhaust drone? I think there is a TSB for Duramax exhaust drone. Is there a TSB for 6.0 exhaust drone?

In general there are many differences in the sounds produced by these two trucks. The body of the CC does not flex as much as the Ext Cab, so the door weather stripping does not squeak on the CC like it did on the Ext Cab. The exhaust note is very different between the two. The 2010 has the blowing air sound coming from the cab vents, the 2009 did not have the blowing air sound coming from the cab vents.

The engine tune and torque management seems to be very different between the two trucks. I wonder if they changed the tune in 2010. The 2010 is a smoother running engine than the 2009. I am suprised at the variation between these two very similiar trucks.

Anyone else gone from one NBS 2500 to another NBS 2500 and seen considerable difference in sound and performance?

I traded my 08 for a 10 just last week. I have to say I liked my 08 better. But I guess I'll get used to this one . . . I liked the sound of the 08's engine over this 10--I agree, they sound different. And I also noticed noise in the cab--this 10 has a sliding rear window, so I was blaming it on that--maybe it wasn't sealed properly? But I guess that's not it!

Neither of mine had the sliding rear window. There are several threads about the road noise that comes through the vents on the back of the cab. I can't explain why the 09 did not have the blowing noise from the cab vents. I put foam around the outside of the cab vents to lessen the blowing noise. That made the blowing noise less but seemed to increase the drone. I guess it will just take time to get accustomed to a new truck.

I know when I test drove an 09 the other day when I had nothing else to do, the exhaust drone was deafening! It sounded like a cat in heat. My 08 definitely sounds 10x better.
