Bypassing Block Heater Sensor

Recommended Posts

Posted

My question is if the air temp is -10 and I have my block heater plugged in (without the thermostatically controlled cord) and the coolant temp is 70 degrees it sets an engine code and the truck will not start if you shut it off. But if the truck was running. I go into the store come back out it’s still -10 my truck water temp is now 210 roughly. If I start the truck it runs fine. So why is the block heater setting a code?
