Yeah, seems he's quite enamored over the RAM!  You know, I kinda look at Newspaper reviews of vehicles much as I do movie review snippets in the trailers, you know the type, "Best movie of the Millemium", says so and so from the Boise Herald! (Not picking on Boise here! )

The exception, IMHO is Tony Swan, formerly w/ the Detroit Free Press, and he's a far better and more knowledgable automotive writer.

Oh JP....  Tell us how you feel about Cummins. :thumb: Im sure you know my position and I think I know yours.  I had a 96 Ram 2500 with the 5.9B and had no troubles with it at all..  I pulled alot of crap with it and it took everythinhg I threw at it.  Including pulling our combine out of some mud in 4L at idle.  I had no mysterious tranny fires or anyting like that.  That engine is far from quiet!  They wont be able to quiet it down without a serious valvetrain redesign.  Maybe adapt the HEUI Injection like Navistar did with the P-Stroke.  Although Cummins did go to common-rail fuel injection in the H.O. 5.9 for 03.  I havent heard one running so i dont knwo how it sounds.  The only diesel engine in any truck right now that I will say is quiet is the 6.6.  That dam thing is so quiet, you can barely tell its a diesel.  Powerstroke is loud, and the Cummins is loud.  But they sound sweet with straight open exhaust (depending on the driver)!  Three things to say about them though.....  Sound.   Smoke.   Power.

Ive got a video that some of you might like...  I have nothing against Ford..  Nothing.  I just favor the Cummins ISB engine over Navistars T444E.  Navistar hit the nail on the head with the DT466E, it is an excellent design and a good smooth running engine.  That would be a cool project dropping that big bitch into an F350!

Dodge vs. Ford bumper pull

Don't see too many problems with the article except the engine comparisons.

The guy is harping about the Hemi 5.7 as the base engine for Ram HDs and compares it to Ford's 5.4 and GM's 6.0.  No mention of by him (of course) of GM's 8.1L, which is the most powerful gas motor offered hands down or Fords dependable 6.8L which is more efficient based on displacement than Dodge's bigger cc V10.  It always irks me when these guys compare base engines.

Oh well, it's a new truck so Dodge is going to get exposure with it.
