Service Trailer Brake System?

Starting last week I started getting this message and it pops up every time I start my truck. This is on a 2007 2500HD with factory trailer brake controller. I haven't towed anything with it so I don't know if it's working, but the wiring under the dash seems OK. Is there anything else I can look for?

I think there were some early software problems in 07. Maybe needs updated even though you don't use it , it might still self check on start up.

Mine did it when I first got it. The dealer did the update. Recently I had the light again,I checked my socket and sprayed it for moisture or corrosion,after a few restarts it went out. I was on the way to take it back when it went out. It may show a code or I have to wait for next time light comes on. I guess there are sensors on brake resevoir ,other things that can cause light. plowking
