Get To Drive The Truck More

When I bought the Silverado, and gas prices jumped up to over $4.00 a gallon, I had to park the truck and start riding the bike. Well the wife is upset since in a year and a half I have only put 10,000 miles on the truck. She says I should sell it and buy something I would drive. After doing some math, I figured we would take too much of a loss and still have a car payment so I guess I will just start driving it more. I really like the truck, the way it drives, all the accessories I have on it and love to hear the V-8 rumble when I step on the gas. Also gas prices have gone down some, I paid $3.77 at Costco last week so that isn't as bad as it was a month ago. I have got to get the truck washed and waxed in the next month and also the oil changed. Maybe I will just take it to the dealer for the day and let them do it. I wonder how much that would cost?

Last time I looked into getting a detail it was for my Altima....the dealer wanted almost $900 for a polish and detail!! Can get much better prices at local shops.Wouldnt make sense to sell truck to buy a shitbox, I wouldnt give up my truck for anything, yeah its a gas pig, but I love her!!

Dude you live in California, aren't there car washes/detail shops on every block?

As for gas prices, I bought mine in March and knew full well that $4/gallon was coming. I don't care too much about the poor mileage in a truck, I've been able to deal with it.

Woooah ........... the OP is from Cali, I know Alabama is a world away on many levels but even here you can get a good full detail for $200-$250, personally I would not have my car wheeled if just wanting a detail just my personal opinion. Without being wheeled should be even cheaper.

I am taking the truck into the shop on Friday, I will ask them what they charge and most likely won't have them do it, but just to get an idea.

I will find a local place that comes highly recommended before I trust my truck with anyone who says they can detail the truck.

like i tell every person that crys to me about getting bent over at the fuel pump when it comes to full size trucks...you have to pay to play...i clock around 30-50 miles a day on my truck and really gas prices aren't that hard to cope with, gas is currently 3.49 but will be rising this week with more countrys cutting their production..to increase profits blah capitalism
