New guy, just pulled the trigger on a 2011 6.2!

What's up fellas new guy from the great state of Oklahoma and I am the proud owner of a 2011 Sheer Silver CrewCab 6.2L LT Z71. Back in 2005, when I was single I purchased a 2003 SCSB 5.3L Z71 used and drove the piss outta that truck. I immediately added a flow master dual outlet muffler with polished tips out the back and window tint. That was it and I cannot tell you how many women dropped their panties over that truck lol it was nuts! Including my current wife and Mother of my 3 boys . I sold that truck when we found out we were having twins to save on gas and drove a Honda accord for the last couple of years and now, well work has been going very well and we are transitioning to a work from home position in jan so I talked her into letting me buy a pick up again. I cannot say enough about how badass this truck is! Stock it's a beast! As a matter of fact this morning merging onto the highway a douche bag in a hemi charger was in the outside lane of the double turn onto the on ramp and I'm sure he thought he had an easy pass to beat me to merge on first, not so fast there bud once he realized he couldn't pull on my truck he backed off and admitted defeat haha. I'm looking to get a blackbear tune after the first of the year, possibly at the Arkansas event if it happens, I plan on getting the autocal regardless of doing a live tune or email tune. I'll going to hold off on exhaust until after I'm outta warranty then I'll do headers, mid pipe, magnaflow catback and also a ls9 cam upgrade with a retune. By then I'll be hoping for a 400rwhp machine! Anyway that's my intro glad to be here!

I'll get some pics up by this weekend but it looks exactly like ryanbabz71's truck ;) I also ordered a 5000k hid kit for the lights and now I'm thinking of slapping on a dynomax vt muffler. Not the kit just cut out the factory muffler and weld in the dynomax. I'm not looking for a major bump in sound but I like how the stock catback exits the rear and don't want to change it other than maybe adding a polished tip. I've owned the truck for 3 days and went from "I'm gonna leave it 100% stock" to "well hids are a small change, hey I need to get rid of the delay and improve drive ability with a BB tune, hey might as well put on a new muffler" haha

Well in truth. The trucks got plenty of power, but the BB tune is AWESOME. The stock exhaust sounds good, and I like how it exits out the rear. I'm like you though, I'd like to have a little more rumble but not obnoxious so for now, I'm just leaving it stock.

 

Its additive once you start modding.

Welcome aboard, does a BB tune void warranty on the truck?? I am curious as i am holding off on all mods till warranty is gone. I just know those GM dealers will use any excuse to get out of warranty work.

Yes, It can void your drive train warranty if your dealership isn't mod friendly. I've never had an issue so I've had every truck I've owned tuned I did waited for a while to make sure in my mind the trucks drive train was solid and wasn't going to have any issues, then had it tuned.

Congrats! I actually just talked my dad into getting a 2011 NHT silverado. He actually bought it without seeing it and got it for way off sticker. He is picking it up in a couple of weeks. I hope his is as fast as people here say!
