H11 PIAA bulbs causing low beams to not work?

Hello,

I am new to this forum because I cannot find answer anywhere from anyone about this issue.

I have a 2009 Silverado LT that I installed low and high beam PIAA Xtreme White bulbs in. About a year ago, the driver side low beam started delaying when the lights turned on, and eventually I had to start popping the hood and jiggling the harness to get it to turn on when I started the truck. Eventually, I replaced the harness and bulb on that side, and haven't had an issue since.

Now the same thing is happening on the passenger side. Does anyone know why this is happening? Do the PIAA bulbs require special harnesses? The old harness looked as though it melted slightly; perhaps it was loose and started arcing which melted it? I am not sure. PIAA said that the bulbs should run fine on factory equipment, but of course they are going to say that.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Either is likely. If you have a stock bulb laying around, try it and see if the problem is still there.

Thanks, Alaska. I was going to try this sometime this week, and then see what happens. Whats weird is that I don't seem to have the same issue with the PIAA high beams I have in there. Maybe it's because they get used so much less? I don't know. PIAA was cool about it though - talked to them over the phone about the issue and they are going to send me two of their new Night Tech bulbs as replacement.
