Not very good quality but close enough

The bright lights in the background are some switches I wired in, red for my compressor, blue for the LEDs in the bed, I also have 2 2-way switches, one for the floor LEDs (one side always has power, the other side is linked to the overhead lights), the other is for when I figure out the horn wiring so I can switch between the air horns/sock horns.

Here's the lights in the back... I wish they were hidden better but thats the best due to how thin the plastic pieces they're mounted to are.

Overhead lights off, I also put the seats up to see if the LEDs went under the seats at all, guess not.

That's the wires in the front, usually hidden under the trim, I twisted the wires for the back to the wires that go across the middle, and put them in a connector to the LED strips.

That's where the wires come out from under the console, go under the rug where the seat is, come back out by the vent under the seat, and go to the LEDs, nobody can see them without looking, and they'll never get stuck in the track when the seat is moving.

My lights aren't as cool as Ryan's due to their color changing ability, the power goes into a box, so what happens if I leave it set on white is it flashes for a minute while the lights fade-on, but then work seamlessly, same for when they turn off. If I set them to red green or blue though they fade on and off with the lights.

There's where I attached the rear LED strip to the driver seat, you can't see them when they're off, but when they're on you can see the other side a little bit, like the passenger on the driver side can see the strip on the pass side and vise versa.

I said earlier that I would update the thread when I received the chinese LED strips and comment on their quality. They arrived today, the 22nd, when they were supposed to arrive anywhere between Jan 31 - Feb 19. They do have 3m tape on the back side and they also seem to be made of mostly silicone as they are very flexable. All LEDs fired correctly. I like these units better than the ones the original poster linked to not only because of the price, but these are on black PCB's so if you had to mount these where someone could see them, they wouldn't look out of place at all.

I can't wait to get out and install these but currently the 0 degree weather outside isnt promoting any work haha. I will update this thread when I get these installed and let you all know if I am still happy with these.

In case you missed it earlier, here is the link to the cheap ones I purchased.

Tanks Ryan for the post, and everyone else for the ideas! I've ordered some red LED's for the floorboards and under door lighting(front and back) and cool white LED's for the cargo lights. I'm going to wire the cargo lights into the rear lights and connect them to a mercury type tilt switch for the tailgate. Tailgate open=lights on.

Come on warm weather!! Will post pics when done.

This past weekend I had footwell lighting (aqua blue) installed into my camaro at Camarofest by ACCLighting. Liked it so much the next day I purchased a white set for my truck.

Here is the brand I went with

I wired them so they come on with the dome lights, another option is to wire them with a switch but I like them to automatically come one.

TOOLS - Flashlight/Cap light, Trim remover tool, Knife (to strip wires), Zip Ties, Electrical Tape, Footwell Lights

TIME: 15-30 mins

DIFFICULTY - Easy

Step 1 - Remove black plastic cover. This is located on the drivers side to the very left under the dash. Unplug the harness as noted in the 3rd photo in the yellow box. This will make splicing easier

STEP 2 - Run Pass Side Foot Well lights through back of Center Console

I just shoved the light and wires and grabbed them on the other side. I then peeled the tape and stuck in a desired location under the footwells

STEP 3 - Wire in both sides

Connect the 2 red wires from the footwell lights and splice them into the gray wire from the wiring harness (shouldnt matter which gray wire you choose).

STEP 4 - Wire ground

I connected the ground to a bolt on the firewall.

STEP 5 - Attach drivers side footwell lights in desired location (I used zip ties to help secure)

STEP 6 - Connect wire harness and put black cover back on

STEP 7 - TEST and Enjoy the new lights

Hi Ryan, is the grey wire an ignition hot wire?, ie only live when the truck is running?
