Corsa Db on 2012 5.3

Recommended Posts

Thinking of exhaust for my 2012 Silverado 1500 5.3.

I am looking for an agressive sound with no interior drone or vibration. Alsp performance gain is a plus too, the 5.3 has a lot of power but there is more to be had from simple mods like this. From what I have seen everyone is going with the Corsa Db. Anyone here have experince with this?

If not what is your experience with outher exhaust systems? - For budget purposes this would need to stay around the $500 mark.

I think I posted a pic before, but here's another:

I've had the Corsa since June 2011. Truck has 48k on it now and other than AFM being more pronounced in its operation (since disabled courtesy of Blackbear!) I have zero complaints. It starts up with a nice bark but normal driving conditions all you have is a nice mellow burble from the exhaust. But when you romp on it, the sound is great. I've gotten lots of components on how it sounds. Below is a video I made the afternoon after I installed it. I don't think sound has changed any.

Thanks for posting the video Mike!

I might just be sold on the Corsa Db. What is the best tuner to disable the AFM? Sure would be nice if someone could do it for the low low.. hahaa

If you're just looking to disable AFM then the Range offering is exactly what you want. Tunes may or may not leave an electronic trail even if flashed to stock that dealers could possibly use to deny repairs (though Blackbear has helped members here win arbitration cases) whereas once the Range is unplugged there is no trace. If you're looking for a tune, look no further than Blackbear. They're a forum sponsor and have tons and tons of happy customers here. They have their own section here for FAQs.
