Loud sqealing noise

After my truck hasn't been ran for a day or 2 and the engines cold , I start it up & a loud squeeling noise comes & goes then goes away when the engine warms up, any ideas on what this is ?

Sounds like a serpentine belt issue. Could also be a pulley issue. Or maybe other items lol.

Lol thanks my mechanic said might be something with the pulley. He hasn't looked at it yet I just fixed my fuel pressure regulator cause when hot it'd start stall then is have to crank it for a minute but now the loud squeal noise gets on my nerves! & carder can you message me or something I got a question a bout a truck @ don't feel like making a topic lkl

Almost positive its the pulley.. Had a pulley on my 99 it was slightly warped, and it squealed for a few minutes till the engine warmed up.

Thanks Hollis ill tell my mechanic ! That's what he thinks it is.

I own a 97' GMC and from time to time the belt squeals going around the alternator pulley. After a few minutes of driving, it disappears. Also, the idler pulleys are prone to squealing as well due to bearing going bad and/or drying out. About once a year, I have to re-grease it.
