My new 2014 Sierra mods: RC 2/4 drop, wheels, tint

I was just about to pull the pin and order the components to do the 2-4 drop on my 14 and reading the posts I am now worried about the vibration that some people are experiencing. Shimming the diff and trans corrected this? Did every truck experience this? I am thinking of the belltech or mcgaughys adjustable struts drop shackles and removing rear blocks. im kind of a test pilot for this by the looks of it because my truck is a 4x4 but since my truck was ordered with the custom sport package instead of z71 I have the steel control arms and apparently 2wd drop kits will work for it. I know spindles are a nice way to go but I had issues fitting my winter 17's over my belltech drop spindles on my 13 4x4. For exhaust i went with the Borla dual out one side kit and am very happy with it, when 4 cyl mode kicks in it has a bit of a deeper rumble but not obnoxious at all. Working at a GM dealer I found GM now sells a Borla cat back gmpp kit available with dual out rear or right side and comes with the little flapper valve to help limit v4 mode rumble.

custom sport package does that come instead of z71 or as another option

How do these kits effect the towing capacity?

I'd love to pick one of these up.

You coud add helper bags

Are the bags in this picture on that truck? I ordered some Firestone bags but had to return them because there wasn't enough room under there to install them. Are those Airlift helpers?

When you do any axle flip kit, you need to add some kind of helper spring/airbag to be able to use full load capacity of bed, at least in my experience. Every flip kit my shop did, owners who would carry 4wheelers or other heavy loads were never happy without airbags etc. Flip kits are the quickest way to drop the back, but not always the best option depending on use of vehicle. I personally don't haul anything heavy in the bed, Ive got lots of trailers(easier) for that, so it wouldn't effect me...

That being said the OP's truck looks nice.

I'm looking at 24's for my truck too and I'm wondering about wheel width and offset. If this is your buddy's truck will you ask him about it for me?

If possible, I'd also like to see his truck from almost a direct rear view, so I can see how far in/out his wheels and tires sit.

The wheel shop I went to the other day told me anything from 18-30 offset on a 9.5" wide wheel would work- but I don't wanna know what "works" I wanna know what's perfect.

And I love the KMC Slides on his truck. Looks good!

Thanks man.

The tires are the Goodyear Fortera 305/45-22. As with all suspension lowering, tire side wall shrinking you are going to lose some ride quality. Some think of it as feeling the road more. I can say this, of all the lowered vehicles I've had this truck feels amazing. Not much difference at all from stock. But definitely a gain in the handling department. Way less body roll. Now I can say that bolting up this kit and getting the pinion lined up has been a pain. I'm going to have to shim it to get the pinion exactly right. Some of the holes on the hardware did not line up that great. But it was worth it. I also found out that my buddy and I got their first two kits, and I'm guessing we were the test mules. Here is the kit and what's included... http://www.roughcountry.com/lowering-kits/gm-lowering-kit-723-20.php *between us I would let them...uhm refine it a little bit. lol

On the exhaust the black truck below just took the can off and replaced it with a y-pipe essentially straight piping it. Since we have 3 cats now I have to say it sounds pretty good. I'm still undecided on what to go with.

Also some pics of my buddy's truck. Some drop as mine, but 24" wheels and tires on his. And yes the ride is a little bit more harsh on his.

I really like your truck. I have been looking at that kit also and thinking about getting it for my 2014. I just ordered a rear drop to level the truck from that bad rake it has today, but now I'm thinking different. You say the ride quality is still good? I really like the ride this one has from my 2010. How is the clearance? I am also running 305/45/22 on my truck.
