I bought a transfer case on Craigslist for my Silverado 3500 from a guy who said he was parting out his 2001 Silverado 3500. Turns out it didnt fit, so I bought another from a reputable dealer. Now I'm stuck with the other one because the seller wont take it back. I'm guessing the difference in transfer cases may be Auto vs Manual transmission or ??. Anyway I'd like to list it for sale but I dont really know the application. The transfer case is tagged with a New Process Gear tag labeled 246 GM, Assembly No. 1575 3790, SN 1 5 01K2, Ratio 272. Can anyone help me identify the applicable vehicles for this case? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I was also hoping to quote vehicle application. From my reading it appears to be used in multiple GM vehicles (Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon etc) and model years from around 1998 to 200X. Is there a source where I can figure out on what vehicles and years it was used?

The 8.1 and dmax use diff transfer case too. The 6.6 is a 263HXD and the 8.1 is a 263HD...

Ask me how I know lol...bought one before for spare parts. Realized they are not the same...still have it actually.
