Buy this truck or not?

Friend thinks it's a 4.8L. I talked to the owner's wife who informed me that it was an '03 with 155k. She also stated that the truck was stored inside in the winter (I'm in Maine, so that's a big thing). I'm not sure when the lift was put it, but a friend think it's a 2" Body lift with a 6" suspension lift riding on 35"s.

10 grand. I'm not going to pay that much, how much do you think it's worth, if I should buy it?

What about a stock '03 5.3L GMC 1500 ext cab (6.5 ft bed I think) with 103k miles. For 7k. Not sure how the tires are or rust is. I'm at school and I had my father go to look at it, but the truck was not where the sales person said it was. (Truck might have been sold already. Salesperson is not the brightest)

Or this?

^ I agree. 4.8 with either 3.08's or 3.42's and those tires has been working hard with a lot of miles. Not to mention any suspension issues that may exist. I'd keep looking.

Me personally, by what I can see of that truck, engine, miles, I'd go $6,000.00 on the high side. If you can see any signs of it being off road (Mud packed into every nook of the frame and above T-Case/Trans) leave it alone

its worth 4-5k.... the lift and all the mods do not add any value. with that kind of mileage and mods and the fact that its from the northeast is why i say 4 to 5k

not to mention with that kind of mileage most of the major parts have been stressed more then normal turning those big tires

Wasn't really a bad looking truck. But it was definitely out in the winter because the rockers were rusted, but the guy clear coated them and most of everything, probably to try and hide some of the rust. Tires were in good condition. Only place that was really beat up was the tailgate. Front bumper had some kind of damage. It did have plenty of power in 1st-3rd gear. But of course, it lost all power in 4th and 5th gear. Even fairly small hills in 5th, you would lose power. That, plus the fact that it said to service the air bags & the check engine light was on, no go. Plus, I highly doubt the guy would go below 6k. Probably wouldn't even go below 8k. I didn't bother with a price.
