Hello Guys: New poster but long time GM truck/trucks owner.

I just bought a new 2500hd gas sierra, has about 350 miles on it. It may have some teething problems.

Seems like the 3-4 shift is harsh, even a bit of a clunk

AC clutch, Ka-lang kinda loud even when driving at hiway speeds

Lifter noise at a idle quite pronounced, less of a "tick" and more of a "clack" left bank only.

Sometimes there is a kind of dead spot in the pedal the first 1/16 or so. Weird, it comes and goes.

Stepped on the brake kind firmly last night and truck veered to the left a half lane. "stabilitrack" ?

Now, I know, take it to the dealer !!! OK OK I will, Im gonna wait one more week and a new tank of gas and see what happens. I have read that all the newer cars etc have learning TCM/ECMs etc in them and that may be some of it. Also the dealer filled it with E-85 for free on pickup, that maybe some of it also. The other bummer is the dealer is 65 minutes away.

So whats the point of the post? Any other 2014 buyers have similar issues or other issue?

Will keep you appraised what they find if anything. B

That stinks. I hope it's just a glitch with the ECM. In would run some E10 and see what happens.

My 2012 6.0 has been flawless for 40k. Good luck.

Barky................What truck/yr did u have before?

Your first 6 speed?

The ticking you hear may be the fuel injectors clicking.

Mine are loud also (2007) and do sound like noisy lifters.

Last truck was a bought new 2006 2500hd CC DA. Traded it for this new 2500 CC 6.0 gasser. I just read some where that the dead pedal thing may be the free wheeling 1-2 clutch. That would make sense as that where its most noticeable.

Drove about 110 miles today and the weird wheel jerk while braking only happened once, but still.

I don't think the noise is injectors as its only on the left/DS bank. More of a clack, than a tick. Maybe not a mechanical problem per se, but annoying and embarrassing for sure in the drive through. When your next to a wall its really loud, just don't seem like a 47K truck at that point.

Anyone know if you can disable the 3 blink, blinker thing? Id rather have just one flash/blink when you tap the wand. B

Probly piston slap, but I thought that knock was fixed in 08. Could be lifter /rocker noise too

From what I have read on the forums, its a lifter/valve train noise...mine has had an occasional click, but it comes and goes and is only at idle. I'm thinking mine is lifter related, because I changed oil brand recently and even though it was a 5w30 to a 5w30, the new oil was on the thicker end of the 5w30 range...my noise has stopped.

I thought I read that they dropped the 6.0L in the 2014s, and they were only running a 6.2L??

I feel for the OP, its not fun having issues with a new truck...

My 06 had the knock, never hurt anything just really annoying. I don't know if it's actually what I'm talkin about, I just know it's the piston rocking at TDC and the skirt knocks. Something like that...

Yea last truck was a LBZ, great motor and trans, -0- problems with drive train in 104K Miles. The rest of the truck was just getting loose and rattlie. Probably was stupid to trade it but I pull a lot less often now. I will say I got what I thought was a great deal on the 2014 though. ??

So, the front tires had 75PSI in them, I bleed them off to 53 and what a huge diff in the "dartiness" of the steering. Before when you would hit a crack and be on the brakes it would jump around and pull. Now its as if the front end settled down and was way less twitchy. Also dropped the backs to 50PSI, whole new truck ride and rattle wise. Im used to airing up and down depending on the load so it OK for me.

Backs had 75 PSI also. B

You got to 53psi and it didn't set the MIL for a low tire? That's neat!

Mine rides good with 60 to 65 psi in all four corners, handles my loads at that too. I want rid of the Duravis this truck came with...
