Does anyone know if GM has a remote locking tailgate as an accessory?

I thought I found this accessory and of course now I can't locate it. If available I would like to add an auto/remote locking tailgate Looks like this could have been an option when the truck was built, just wondering if GM is offering this and accessory.

I haven't seen it yet. Not sure if the old setup can work. May just have to go aftermarket????

GM does not offer an electric lock for the tailgate.

I recently had a bedrug and retrax pro installed at a local place here in Houston and as they were installing they said they had the remote locking tailgates for the new 2014 sierra if I was interested. At the time i wasn't but that might be something i look into in the future.

 

name of the place was Master Hitch and number is (713) 974-4440 if you want to just give them a call and see about the part number or anything.

Cleetus- thanks, I'll give them a shout. I know I found it on one of the GM discount web sites. It was $155 dollars.

Yep and thanks, just talked to Tom at the Houston location. Very helpful. Fair price. Unit made by pop lock. Only about 1 hr labor. Also for the 900s he recommended the tailgate shock so it does not drop on opening.

Hmm... I just sent an inquiry to pop&lock. Conflicting info if you have a 1500 or I guess spot on if you have 2013 . See below

A. It depends if you have a 1500 or 2500/3500.

 

The PL1310 works for the 1500 for the years 2007 - 2013

The same model PL1310 works for the 2500/3500 for the years 2008 and up

including 2014.

 

Right now that is all we have available for manual locks for the Chevys. As for

the power locks:

 

The PL8120Q works for the 1500 for the years 2007-2013

The same model PL8120Q works for the 2500/3500 for the years 2008 on up

including 2014.

 

We are coming out with a new/upgraded power lock for the Chevy 1500 AND 2500

that will work for the 2014. It is still under design and is still months away

from being released. The part number for this new one when it's ready will be

PL8140.

'09, did not ask about '14s when I called them.....sorry about that.....but the thread has helped some of us older trk guys...I still have to lock my undercover with a key so not sure about the auto myself. Back flips etc that lock with the closed/locked tailgate yes for sure.

No worries. I was just wanting to share what I was told by the manufacture for 14's.

 

I received a reply last night to another inquiry. Looks like Pop & lock is a couple months out on the 14s, still doing R&D.

Those with the pop lock on their tailgate key of the 2015 GMC sierra/Silverados.....

Does it use the factory key hole? Or does it replace the keyhole with another key?

I would prefer to keep the keyhole as the master key that matches the rest of the truck. I know earlier models had to replace the keyhole...
