Hello everybody! Just picked up a 14 Silverado LTZ Z71 4x4 crew cab with the standard bed. Looking to learn what I can before I start tearing into the truck.

Thanks! The winner for me on this truck was 1: It has the same fuel mileage as my Honda Ridgeline while giving me more power and capability; 2: Crew cab, standard bed without having to goto a HD model; 3: No highly stressed out V6 in a full size truck, I just see it as an early demise of the engine; 4: I grew up as a little kid working with my dad on his Chevelle. Grew up as a Chevy/Toyota/Honda kid.

Welcome

Thank you, fellow Devil Dog. When did you serve and with what attachment?

Nice to meet a fellow member of the brotherhood! I was active from 66-69, but as we know; "Once a Marine, Always a Marine!"

Spent some time with the 2nd Wing at MCAS, Beaufort then volunteered for VN (68-69). Just misssed Tet. I was at Phu Bai with the 1st Wing and spent some time wandering around the country side with A Co., 1st Prov. Rifles, FLSG. In many, many ways it was the BEST 3 years of my life! How about you?

Semper Fi Sir. I served 2002-2012. 6 years active and 4 years reserve (like that meant anything). Spent most of my time in 3/1 before a spot opened up for 1st Band (what I was trying to get to straight out of high school). The best 10 years, and the most sh*t wrenching 3 years of my life. I got shipped to the sand box quite a few times. Some were by orders, some were by request. At least the later half I was able to relax a bit and spend time travelling between Pendleton and back home to LA. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world. Heh, and hey, they got my dumbass up to Staff. I'm not going to complain about that.

Yes sir, I am. As soon as the wife is ready, I'm preparing to sell off all my properties and moving to Texas and leaving Kaliforniastan.

I agree. With you up in Bakersfield, unless you're in agg, I just don't know. Hahaha. At least you'll have be coming by every once in a while when I go race at Buttonwillow.

I forgot that they opened up the track. I am in school, I don't do the normal ag or oil here
