So, how much is your health insurance going up?

Remember folks, as much as you want to vent, this forum fears political discussions so leave it out or it'll lock up fast.

Just want to see what people are looking at.

Although my premium is only going up 6 bucks a month, the cost of services is skyrocketing. My $7 a month RX may now cost $45, and the surgery I just had for $100 copay would now cost $200 PER Surgeon in the room starting in January....Yikes.

Mine doesn't change. I also had my appendix out with a 5 day stay in the hospital for free back in March

No idea, we get to pick our plan beginning of November each year. I figure we will see some changes. I have always had a $2400 deductible with my current company. Have an HSA that is built up pretty well right now and they add $1000 each year.

I hope this gov shut down doesnt last to long. My wife is currently working for free (IOUs from Uncle Sam).

Nothing for me. Luckily my company pays the cost completely for single coverage.

Our deductibles went up slightly along with a rate increase. This put the rates just slightly above the top teir rates that the same company offers in the exchange program. Makes me wonder if they are trying to push people to the exchanges.

My wife and I are in our 30s with 2 kids. Oldest is in 2nd grade. Currently pay $522/mo with a $6000 family deductible. After jan 1 premium goes to $1113/mo and we go to a $6350 individual deductible. So if all of us end up using our insurance we will pay approximately $40,000 next year before our insurance pays a penny.

To keep this topic from becoming locked I'll just say I'm severely pissed.................my wife and I are small business owners and in the healthcare industry. I deal with insurance companies every second of every day. All of our patients are pissed. This is a massive train wreck.

Not sure about mine yet. We vote on a new contract in December. I'm expecting an increase, but no idea how much. I currently pay $6 a week for my Wife and I with a $250 deductible per year. Copay is $0 for ER and OV.

Thats a sweet deal, I pay about $250 a month for mine plus the deductible. Max out of pocket is like $6K after the deductible for a family. Lucked out last yr, my son had ear tubes, I had my ACL rebuilt, and my wife had a baby. It was easily $40K in medical bills, couldnt imagine not having insurance I would have been hosed.

When I was at the steel mill I basically only paid a co pay if I went to the doctor. Never went in 2 yrs so I never had to make any payments it was nice.
