Ok so im just wondering.. buying a 2010 silverado 5.3 4x4 in the next few weeks and im throwing on a RCX 7.5 inch lift kit with 17inch rims and 35 inch tires..

Just wondering if 4.56s gears will be good for re-gearing with for city/hwy driving and some off roading every now and again.

I was talking to an off road shop near my place and i got priced out for 990 bucks for the gears and 840 for install and 60 for the fluids.

Curious as to know if thats a fair pricing for the job? I didn't say any specific brand for the gears, was hoping some of you guys could maybe suggest some for me?

Thanks in advance!!

Look into McGaughys lifts. I haven't heard nothing bad about them so far and I believe one member has one currently or is in the process of installing.

For the money I would go with FTS. 8" and flat angles. The RC kit is a stretched 5" kit that drops he diff less than 5". The spindles are way too short too. As a result you have to cut off your droop stops because of the extreme UCA angle. Your CVs and TREs will hate life too, and it comes with a massive 6.5" block for the rear. Many that have had it have equated the ride to a covered wagon and ended up removing it in favor of, usually FTS. Mcgaughys is like a rebranded Fabtech and is a great kit but priced higher than FTS. If you jump over to GMFullsize.com and holler at Frank in the FTS vendor section you can get a great deal. If I was doing another truck right now I would go with FTS.

So FTS is the same but more expensive? Looks like some butthurtin was initiated on that forum too lol.

To be honest I can't quote the price point on either kit. I'm only pointing out the issue with the leaking struts. Other than that I've not seen any bad reviews but the kit isn't very widespread.

I just installed my McGaughys kit. Love it compared to the RCX kit. Wayyyy flatter angles but not sure on the NNBS trucks which have coil suspension. Someone else has one on their NNBS truck and he seems to like it on his truck. Good kit for the money is all I can say

The price on gear swap ain't bad, with 7.5" lift you could run 37's or wide 35's too...

4:56 will bring you back pretty close to stock ratio.

Blackout is the lift guru, I would listen to him haha. I always just make sure on any lift that the angles are going to be good. FTS are nice but a little bit too showy for me, have you looked into bds?

I've looked into them a few times before, yes.

My problem is finding reviews for them.

I've been checkin out the McGaughy's lift kit. Liking the 7"

What do you have on your truck for lift wise?

I'm just gonna say there ain't a whole bunch of people with McGaughys lifts because they just came out with lifts a couple years ago, but are really well known for their high quality lowering kits. So far I've been happy. Took three weeks to get it in though because they had to powder coat it black

what colour's do they come in? I read a silver type colour and black? I dont care for colour so long its not like yellow or something lol.

Where did you order from?

Link of the site you used would be nice.
