Annoying Shudder Issue

So a month ago i bought a used '04 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 5.3L.

I did some searching on here and i see some complaints about it.

I have been fighting with the dealer since i bought it (they said they would take care of it before i signed).

The did a throttle body cleaning and said it fixed the issue. Which it didn't it did it right when i started it. My favorite part was that they used over 1/4 tank of gas in only 14 miles.

I decided to take it in my own hands. I changed the spark plugs which were factory and had 131,000 on it. 2 & 4 show signs of an intake leak, did searching and found 3 TSBs for revised intake gaskets as well as possible intake warping.

Took it back today and pretty much got no where with them. They told be its completely acceptable and they even pulled up another customers truck like mine and showed me that it did the same.

My favorite part was he told me i should have never changed the spark plugs because they were perfect and they are good to 200,000 and that i have done more damage to my engine changing them. I about died in the service department.

Is this normal for these engines? i have friends that don't have this issue and i just don't think that GM would produce such a rough engine like this.

On my '99GMT 800 I had a 4.3 that would not advance the distributor far enough and it would shutter. Not sure why. They no name shop grinded the indexing casting to advance it farther to start with. Then, it ran great. Your stealer is ridiculous for sure. :nonod:

No shuddering in my 2006. Changed the spark plugs & wires this summer. 100k is pretty standard for plugs. I wouldn't trust anyone who said changing plugs will hurt, in fact I would want to run them over. Take it somewhere else, preferably somewhere that relies on servicing vehicles for 100% of their profits... If they compare your truck to anyone else's they suck anyways, if it wasn't for how stupid they are.

There's also those bad batch of cylinder heads out there. Cracking heads!!

I would drive the truck back up there with ALL of your paperwork and threaten to tear it all up and walk away!!

What dealership was this? A mom & pop used car lot or something?

I working on getting forced to fix the issue.

Its actually a Chevrolet dealer at an auto mall up here in the sacramento area. Sad. They have horrible Service department reviews on Yelp.

Went through and re torqued the intake, and i filled up at Shell instead of my AMPM down the street i always use and it seems to have calmed down quite a lot.

Pulled my dads boat with no issues or anything.

Im going to take out the plugs this weekend and see if the intake is still showing signs of it or not. that will give these plugs about 700 miles on them.
