Ball joint press as a torsion key tool?

I just ordered a levelling kit for my 2000 sierra and I was wondering if I could save some money and use the ball joint press I already own to unload the tension from the keys

 

Anyone tried/ done this? Thanks for the any input

I did try a search to look for related topics but came up empty :/

cant ya borrow the CORRECT tool and do it properly ? why temp fate and do it WRONG !!!! ?

You can rent them for free from Autozone if you have one local, i believe. Might be worth calling a few local auto stores to rent something for free, if thats the way you would say that. Torsion bars have a lot of tension on them, hate to have something slip and someone to get hurt.
