Undercover Flex or Backflip Fibermax

Any opinions? I've watched the odd video and don't see too much difference in the two. Difficult to really tell online though.

Looking to pull the trigger on a black Friday deal when they come up so want to have the research done ahead of time. The Backflip seems to be available from more sources. Let me know what you think.

I am not opposed to a rolling one either but they seem to be a lot more money. Also......anyone know of a good source to get these cheap on Black Friday (or any other time?)

Don't know too much about the specific models but I know Backflip is quite a reputable brand...i'll be getting the backflip again for sure.

bought the bakflip f1 fit was top notch install easy and with a few torrential rains here in TN box is dry no drips or dribbles, like the look the fit and function, autoanything had best price after beating best one I found online.

I had this same dilemma, but ultimately chose the backflip fibermax based on recommendation from my local installer and online reviews. I've been really impressed thus far. After installing a bed rug over the weekend, I ran the truck through a laserwash and then opened the back and couldn't find any evidence of a leak. From what I can tell, the undercover flex is also a really nice cover - it comes down to what you feel more comfortable with.

I have the Bakflip Fibermax, works good so far! I like that when its folded up it is right up against the cab. The undercover flex sits upright on 2 little prop rods and acts as a wind catcher.

I just put the Undercover Flex on my 2014 and I love it! Very good product. I don't like the idea of the cover leaning up against (and rubbing ) on the back of the cab. This is one reason I went with the Undercover Flex. The two prop rods on each side hold it firmly in place at highway speeds. No leaks, low look.

Have the same on mine for the same reasons. Very happy with it.

Rubber rests on the glass. no rubbing, no wind sail

The BAK flip F1 uses prop rods aslo and is very stable when up. What I liked best was the 5/8 thick fbg panels, had another brand go through a hailstorm in TN here and was trashed. This one looks to fare better than the sheet metal

I installed the Bakflip Fibermax on my Sierra standard bed. Very pleased with it's fit and function and have had a number of positive comments from guys who have not seen this top before. Highly recommend.

Had the BakFlip F1 on my '11 and loved it. On the '14 I wanted something different so I got the BakFlip VP. Both are well built and went thru a lot of heavy down pours here in Texas without leaks. Real nice.

I recently order the Undercover Flex for my truck, 2014 double cab and waiting on delivery. I had an Extang Solid Fold on my 2008 and hail damaged destroyed it. I did not want another aluminum cover and wanted something a little "hail resistant". We shall see...

Did you install the drain tubes for the VP? On the installation video they say this is optional.

I'm trying to decide between the F1 and the VP. If the drain tubes are necessary I will go with the F1. If not needed then the VP.

Yes, I did install the although they say not necessary. I was going to see how it did first but then decided to install. I have the BakBox as well so installing the tubes in later would mean taking out the box. It was just easier. After having it on for a while and going through rain and car wash there is no water in the tubes. The F1 is clearly more heavy duty, but I like the smooth look.
