Gauge Cluster

Guys, i have a 06 2500 hd and today i noticed the oil pressue gauge is pegged at 80 and when i shut it down it does go back to zero,. im thinking its either the gauge cluster or the sending unit ,. everyone i talked to today says its the cluster gauge ,. i just dont want a blown motor now ,.

i had the truck put on a scanner today and sure enough the scanner said low voltage to the oil pressure sending unit ,. spoke to the mechanic from where i brought the truck from and states i sould not be driving it ,. i dont think im hurting the truck and the oil level is good !

Chris, does your truck have an oil /tranny cooler ?

I custom plumbed a trans cooler and an engine oil cooler is in plans once i figure out space.

thanks , just curious how cold/warm your oil was when you check it ,. mine is not very warm at all ,. and can actually touch it bare hand

Engine oil, not sure. Im an ex mechanic so i am used to working on things that are warm. Now if it hits my forearm in sure i will feel the temp
