2001 GMC Sierra 1500 SL FOG LIGHTS HELP!!

Wassup Guys, I am new to this page and i spent the last hour trying to navigate around the website trying to find the information i need but cant seem to find it hope you guys can help. I will explain in full detail what information i want to know but in short i am looking for 2001 GMC Sierra OEM Fog light installation guide, I would like to know what i am going to need to do the job (So far i am buying OEM GMC Fog lights, Wiring harness, OEM Fog light switch) anything else?

 

also when installing the Fog Light Switch is it just plug and play do i use same wiring as what the cargo light switch had?

 

i will also appreciate a wiring diagram, I just want to know as much as i can before doing the job.

 

also i will have to get my BCM reprogrammed at dealer for the fog lights to work correct?

If I was adding them on i would run a simple wire/ switch combination rather than paying $$ to get anything programmed or tearing into a harness and splicing wires. I say that because normally the fog lights (on my truck) will turn off if you hit the high beams. Perhaps it is because of current draw, or perhaps safety. not sure.

 

The truck is 12-13 years old now. I wouldn't worry about doing it to factory specs.

I believe its very similar to this write up. I also think you do need to get that year to the dealer to have it flashed for the the fog lights.
