Tag Song in Mylink doesn't seem to do anything

So, in my 14 Chev with the uplevel Mylink, no nav, I have this tag song thing I can press, assumptively so if I hear a song I like it will put it into a shopping list to sync with my ipod and download those songs when I sync it with my computer.

But, I can't see any lists, songs, anything when I sync my ipod with the computer. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is GM just keeping us busy with this and it doesn't actually do anything or what? Tried it with a few different ipods now, and the radio has no effect on the ipods in creating any sorts of lists.

Thanks

Yeah I had the same problem. Even though my ipod was compatible with MyLink, it was an older one and the software (even though it was updated software in the ipod) couldn't get the tags from MyLink.

So I took my wife's iPhone 4S and plugged it into the truck via USB (not bluetooth) and let it sync up. Once it did, I unplugged it and those annoying prompts about connecting ipod on the MyLink went away.

Then I synced her iPhone up with iTunes on my computer and when it synced it created a new folder called "Tagged Songs" or something like that. Then what I tagged was in there.

But I won't use tagging again - I just tagged a couple songs just to see what it was all about - definitely more of a PITA! Good luck.

Maybe it's only for iPhone, tried with an older iPod touch and a brand new iPod nano and an older iPod nano... maybe I should try it via bluetooth before deciding it doesn't work?

Two questions:

Are you getting a message on the screen saying "Tagged songs will be downloaded when an ipod is connected."?

Are you synching the ipods with iTunes when you're done? You have to do that in order to access the "Tagged" folder, I think.

I am indeed getting the message "Tagged songs will be downloaded when an ipod is connected." But haven't seen anything after removing it and syncing. Nothing on the iPod, nothing in iTunes

And it even says the "Tagged songs will be downloaded when an ipod is connected." while an iPod IS connected

Yep that's what happened to me. Know anyone with an iphone you can just attach via USB? Once you do that the messages will go away. And when the owner of the iphone syncs with itunes, they'll see the "tagged songs" folder. They can just delete it. At least that way you won't get those stupid messages anymore!

Figured it out now... yes, you are right... it makes a folder in itunes that says tagged songs (once in a while) semmes to be a bit intermittent on syncs... I'll chalk that up to apple, couldn't be GM's fault, lol
