Oil consumption 07 NBS 4.3 2x4

I'm at 30% consumption on the DIC. I'm showing approximately 1/4 inch of oil on my dipstick. I use Mobil 1 synthetic. I know that the dipstick is only showing 2 quarts of the total volume of 6 quarts. This consumption appears correct to me. But would appreciate educated opinions. Thank you!

You do understand the Oil Life Monitor is not a measure of consumption of liquid amount, it's for the measuring the remaining "life" or usability of the oil

Yes I know that. It's based on miles and driving characteristics. This is a general question and based on my question with approx. a quarter of an inch on the dipstick at 30% DIC. The mileage wasn't reset at the last oil change so I'm not able to provide that info. I realize it's somewhat vague. However it would take me several months to run a test - mileage vs. oil.

Looking in your sig, you have a GMT800 with a 4.3, V6. How many miles? We've got 5.3s, 6.0s and 6.2s with 150k+ that don't use that much in 5.5k - 6k. Keep track of your mileage next time too. If you're getting 4k or more between changes and only losing1/2 to 3/4 of a qt at high mileage engine, I wouldn't be overly concerned. GMT900 consume more than that in way less miles

I have 98968 miles. I talked to the shop that did my last oil change today and they told me I had changed it at 93765 miles. Thanks

5200 miles. That's not terrible. Several factors at play. If you're running 5w-30, you could try 10w-30 depending on your location, to see if it might make any difference

I'm in NJ had some days down in the single digits but it's usually around 30 degrees. Thanks for your response.
