Need some help brothers and sisters, been chasing this belt squeak half the day on the wives 2010 Tahoe. replaced the main belt and tensioner pulley. squeak still there. Removed the main belt for a few and squeak still there. Looked at the A/C belt and pulley, engaged and disengaged the the A/C clutch. Squeak still there. It almost seems like its internal to the engine. Is this a possibility? if so, what and would this be coved under the eng/powertrain warranty. Need help she hates it. Thanks

Hello illmac77,

I'm sorry to hear of the concerns you and your wife are having with your vehicle. My suggestion would be to get it diagnosed by a technician at a GM dealership. If you do not already have a dealership you associate with I'd be happy to locate one for you and set up an appointment. If you'd like my help, please send me a private message with your name, address, phone number, VIN, current mileage and involved dealer if you have one. I look forward to assisting you.

Thank you,

Andraya R.

my squeal was coming from the alternator.

I pulled the main belt an it still squeaked. I did notice that the alt pulley did make a noise when I spun it by hand but ruled it out since the squeak was still there with out the belt spinning the alt pulley. What's weird is when I listened to different parts of the motor with a screw driver it almost seamed like it was internal. But I can't rule out the A/C pulley/belt just yet.

Are we going to have to deal with this customer service crap on every thread? It's going to get old quick ........ I dealt with a squeak like this on my work truck the old timer here hit all the pulleys with a shot of wd40 until he found that one was making the noise

I hit the AC pulleys after I took off the main belt an there was still the constant squeak, faster with RPMs going up I guess I just need to change the AC belt an elimite that variable.

A really good stretch belt remover/installer is the Lisle #59370. Not expensive and works well. Google it and watch the you-tube video. Tried to copy and paste the link, but would not work for some reason.
