I am in for some info on the winch setup as well. I have been thinking about one for my truck but don't want to change out the front bumper as I like it. I would love to have a winch hidden inside of the front bumper like your setup.

There is no dash indicator for 4wd mode. When you make the initial change the DIC tells you the change is happening, after that he only notification is the dial itself.
