What are you towing with your 2014?

I am pulling a 2011 Bennington 22SLI pontoon boat, 4000 lbs, and a 2013 Gulfstream Gulfbreeze 30DBS, 8500lbs. Truck pulls both great. Better than my 2011 Denali.

This ends up only being of about 4,000 lbs getting towed so the 6.2 isn't having any trouble with it at all. I did add some Firestone air bags because, coming from a 1 ton, I thought it porpoised a bit going over freeway bridges. Other than that it tows like a dream.

Last C5, how would the air bag help the purposing? wouldn't it still do that with them installed?

Maybe porpoising wasn't quite the right term. Crossing bridges with the trailer the half ton's softer springs seemed to make the rear bounce a little more than I was used to with the 1 ton and the air bags put a stop to that. I'm only running about 20 lbs in the bags with the trailer on, but that makes all the difference in the world going over the bridges. Running around without the trailer attached I run 10 lbs and the ride is the same as stock.

This is the most I have hauled. The trailer and hay was around 13k. Yes, too much.

The trailer brake made stopping it a more confident exercise. That field was soft, and 4wd was necessary when going up incline or over terraces.

5.3/3.42/4wd/trailer brake controller btw

How much strain did it feel like the truck was under? Transmission temps?

I would've wanted the 6.2L if I had planned on doing that much, lol.

I only do it once a year, otherwise I would have a 2500. I have thought about getting one anyways, but I commute 25 miles one way for my real job.

I had a 2010 Silverado that I towed this same trailer with. It didnt have a trailer brake and it got shoved around a bit by the trailer. I only did that once. When I got this truck I tried it and it does a much better job pulling/stopping it.

I only pull this trailer loaded like this locally, and mostly on dirtroads.
