airbag light

Recommended Posts

Hi; I recently install an off-market radio and when I was done the airbag light came on. I checked all of the connections and the fuse. I took the battery cables off for a few minutes. Still on. I have a 2006 chevy express 1500.

Thanks for any help.

Agreed you need to get code scanned.

In the mean time you could try pulling airbag fuse , or even disconnecting battery for 30 min. and that might reset code..

But searching online i also found this that a colorado owner found..

when replacing a radio sometimes it resets the BCM and causes the communication error i stated in the first issue of my last response(your bcm thinks the airbags are not the originally installed because it doesn't remember their vin number) the fix is to do a BCM relearn using a Tech2 scan tool and it should clear all your problems right up
