Chevrolet will price the 2015 Corvette Z06 Coupe at $78,995 and the convertible at $83,995. Laying claim as the fastest and most powerful Corvette ever built, the Z06 has a supercharged 6.2L LT4 engine producing 650-horsepower. That's more horsepower than was spec'd for the sixth-generation ZR1, which only had 630. Considering the ZR1 cost north of $110k, a sub-$80,000 Z06 sounds like a bargain.

Here's some quick details on Z06 pricing and packaging:

  • Standard magnetic ride control, performance traction control, and electronic limited slip differential
  • Optional Performance Data Recorder (PDR)
  • Standard heads-up display
  • Aluminum frame is 20% stiffer than previous Z06
  • Carbon Fiber Ground Effects Package [$2,995] Adds carbon fiber front splitter, carbon fiber rocker panels, and a larger rear spoiler
  • Z07 Performance Package [$7,995] Adds an adjustable version of the carbon fiber ground effects package, Brembo carbon ceramic-matrix brake rotors, and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires
  • Available in 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ trim packages
  • Optional leather wrapped interior, competition sports seats, carbon fiber interior trim, and a visible carbon fiber roof for the Coupe
  • Several exterior color options and brake caliper color options
  • Two transmission options - 7-speed manual or 8-speed automatic

The 2015 Corvette Z06 amounts to a more powerful but a-la-carte version of the previous ZR1. Enthusiasts rejoice!

Thats really not too much of a premium over the last gen z06. I have been vocal about the price increases from GM on their vehicles but this doesn't seem to bad to me, but maybe thats because I expected a bigger price hike.
