Holes in frame wheel well got you down??

Clean them up with 2" rubber caps from Home Depot. For us Northern people snow and ice and salt finds its way everywhere and there is no need to give it a cave to rest in all winter.

These were $11.00 plus tax for 4 of them.

Insert them this way to keep the look cleaner and make it easy to pull them when access is needed.

There is a guy selling plastic versions of this on eBay for I think $15 plus shipping. Save money...buy local!

They are not super tight but tight enough to stay put. Great to help keep mud and water out while off roading too. I have the same thought but there is holes in the tube that I can see already. But you could also drill a small maybe 1/8" weep hole in the bottom or in the middle to vent either side.

Not sure how to do that. Maybe a moderator could assist ;). I am newer to this site. So I don't know functions in it so well yet. Feel free to move it accordingly as you see fit. Just message me the new location.

You can't keep salt/water/dust out unless they're airtight. Only keep it in. If it's anything like my 06 there are various holes in the tubes. I would rather keep the tubes open so I can clean them out with the pressure washer.

Thus the reason they are rubber plugs. Can be removed quickly to clean out tubes as needed. Better to not have a tube full of ice and packed snow all winter. The other holes I am working on finding some easy solutions to. Grommets are my next stop to dig into.

Yes it is in plumbing where they keep all the PVC pipe and couplers. They are all rubber.

Just an update. Have put about 250 miles on with these in and lots of good bumping around and they are still in place. There is a hard plastic cap you could do but you would not be able to take them out as easy if you wanted to clean the tubes at all.

Boy you guys are real anal about the frames of your trucks , jeez

Yeah its unreal isn't it?

The problem with plugging the holes is heat from the underbody meets cold pipe and then creates condensation inside pipe then leads to rust follow by them complaining and bashing GM about frame rust.

      Greetings all,
I have a 1997 1500, with a 8 5/8 diff and I am looking for part numbers / vendors to purchase the rear Pinon Seal and Oil Fill Plug. Yes,  I have searched but I am coming up with all kinds of Seals and not sure what size the oil fill plug is.

Since I am replacing the real pinon seal, is there anything else I should inspect / replace.

Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. (if you need  the VIN to find the correct parts, here it is 2GTEK19R4V1537117)

      Thank you!

Does anyone have access to GM harness schematics? Trying to find the correct harness that goes from the center console to the dash (infotainment system). Installed the center console with storage, cigarette lighters and USB ports and would like to use the factory harness without having to cut and splice. Or does anyone have access to just the plug and I can add my own pins?

Recently replaced plugs and wires in 2004 Chevy Silverado Z71. It now idles very rough almost to the point of stalling and misfiring. I found a forum somewhere that mentioned wrong plugs but now can't find it to show the hubby. Any help is appreciated! Love these forums!

Hello all, I was cleaning my truck out this spring and noticed I was missing a few plugs for the holes that are located on the inside of the fenders (wheel wells) above the rear wheels. Any idea where I can buy these? Is there a part number?

Hi I have a 2015 Chev Silverado, 4.3 engine with a new engine put in 100,000km ago as oil pump went on it before. Now I have a miss on cylinder 5. I swapped coils from cylinder 5 to cylinder 1, new spark plugs put in on cylinder 5 and 3, put new spark plug wires on 1,3,&5. Got injectors all cleaned and tested. Checked and replaced the oil pressure filter on it. And still have a steady miss on cylinder 5 still, which is more apparent when the engine warms up. Did a compression test with cylinder 5 being at 130psi and cylinder 1 also being at 130psi and that was engine cold and hot . I am on a total loss of where to go now. Other than replace the engine or rip it all apart. Could use some insight PLEASE.

         Thanks in advance
